About Us
Federation of Sierra Leoneans in Arizona (FEDSLAZ)

The Federation of Sierra Leoneans in Arizona (FEDSLAZ) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) community-based organization committed to serving, uniting, and uplifting Sierra Leoneans residing in Arizona. Founded on the values of solidarity, compassion, and cultural pride, FEDSLAZ is more than an organization—it is a family for Sierra Leoneans living far from home.

Our mission is to provide a strong support system for Sierra Leonean individuals and families by promoting social cohesion, cultural awareness, and responsive community assistance. We serve as a central hub for cultural preservation, community engagement, advocacy, and charitable action within the Sierra Leonean diaspora.

Over the past four years, FEDSLAZ has demonstrated its deep commitment to community welfare by spending over $100,000 in direct support to bereaved families. When tragedy strikes—whether through the loss of a loved one or unexpected hardship—FEDSLAZ steps in with financial aid, moral support, and coordinated community response. These efforts ensure that no family has to face grief or loss alone.

In addition to bereavement support, FEDSLAZ organizes cultural events, educational forums, youth mentorship programs, health awareness initiatives, and networking opportunities aimed at empowering individuals and strengthening the entire community. We strive to preserve the rich heritage of Sierra Leone while helping our people thrive in the diverse and dynamic landscape of Arizona.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all donations to FEDSLAZ are tax-deductible, and every contribution goes directly toward supporting the programs and services that make a real difference in people's lives. Whether you're a Sierra Leonean in Arizona, a friend of our community, or a compassionate supporter, your involvement helps sustain our mission and extend our reach.

Together, we are building a stronger, more united Sierra Leonean community in Arizona—one rooted in tradition, guided by service, and committed to progress.
